MCPs for Business

The 5 Claude
MCPs Every
Business Owner Needs

An MCP is a door from Claude into one of your tools. Open these five and Claude stops being a chatbot and starts being your operator. With verified setup paths for each.

Most business owners using Claude hit the same wall around month two. Claude can THINK about your business but can't actually DO anything in it. It can write you a Klaviyo campaign but can't push it into Klaviyo. It can analyze 200 reviews but only if you paste them in by hand.

MCPs (Model Context Protocol servers) are the fix. Every MCP is a door from Claude into a specific tool. Open the door, Claude can read the data and take the action directly. This guide walks through the 5 MCPs that matter most for a business owner, with the actual setup path for each.

Step Zero Set Up The Basic Claude Connectors First

Before you touch a single MCP, make sure Claude's built-in connectors are on. These are the ones Anthropic ships natively: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Slack. They live at Settings > Connectors inside Claude.

These four cover most of the basic 'what's on my plate' work. Once they're on, Claude can read your inbox, see your calendar, search your files, and pull Slack threads without you having to set anything else up. That's your foundation.

Once that's done, you move on to the 5 MCPs below.

MCP 1 Your E-commerce Platform

Shopify shipped an official MCP server in April 2026. It's the cleanest native MCP for any e-commerce business owner. Once connected, Claude can analyze your orders, products, customers, inventory, and store analytics in natural language.

How to connect it:

  1. Open Claude and go to Settings > Connectors (or visit claude.com/connectors in your browser).
  2. Search for Shopify in the directory and click Connect.
  3. Sign in with your Shopify admin account when the popup appears.
  4. Grant the read permissions Claude requests (products, orders, customers, inventory).
  5. Open a new chat and try the prompt below.

Then try this first prompt

Pull my last 90 days of Shopify orders. Tell me my top 5 best-selling products, the top 3 worst performers, and any specific customer behavior pattern you notice. Tell me which of those 5 best-sellers I should push hardest next, and what specific marketing angle would work best for that product based on my actual customer data.

If you use Squarespace, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce

Native MCPs aren't shipped for these yet as of May 2026. Connect through Zapier's MCP instead (see MCP 3 below for the Zapier setup steps). You'll get most of the same Claude functionality, just routed through Zapier's connector layer.

MCP 2 Your Email Marketing Platform

Klaviyo built its MCP server in direct partnership with Anthropic. It's one of the most polished MCPs in the directory. Once it's connected, Claude can build full campaigns (subject lines, body copy, segmentation logic), audit your existing flows for gaps, and pull your top-performing emails from the last 12 months and tell you exactly why they performed.

How to connect it:

  1. Open Claude and go to Settings > Connectors (or visit claude.com/connectors).
  2. Search for Klaviyo in the directory and click Connect.
  3. Sign in with your Klaviyo admin account when prompted.
  4. Approve the requested read permissions for campaigns, flows, and segments.
  5. Open a new chat and try the prompt below.

Then try this first prompt

Pull my last 90 days of Klaviyo campaigns. Tell me my top 3 by revenue and my bottom 3 by open rate. For the bottom 3, rewrite the subject lines based on what's working in my top 3. Then audit my abandoned cart flow and tell me the single biggest gap in it.

If you use Mailchimp or ConvertKit

Native MCPs aren't shipped for these yet. Connect through Zapier's MCP instead (see MCP 3 below). Same idea, slightly less native control, but Claude can still reach most of the same data.

MCP 3 Your Influencer Or Affiliate Tool

The major influencer and affiliate platforms (GRIN, Aspire, Refersion) don't have native MCPs yet. The fix is Zapier MCP. Zapier shipped their MCP server in 2026, which means any of the 7,000+ apps Zapier integrates with can now be reached by Claude through that one connection. This is the single most powerful MCP for the long tail of business tools, not just influencer platforms.

How to connect it:

  1. Sign up for or log into Zapier at zapier.com (the free tier works to start).
  2. Inside Zapier, connect your specific tool first (GRIN, Aspire, Refersion, etc.) as a Zapier integration, the same way you'd set up any Zap.
  3. In Zapier, navigate to the MCP server setup page (Zapier publishes the path in their MCP docs) and generate your personal MCP server URL.
  4. In Claude, open Settings > Connectors > Add Custom MCP.
  5. Paste the Zapier MCP URL and authorize the connection.
  6. Open a new chat and try the prompt below.

Then try this first prompt

Pull my last 6 months of creator partnerships from GRIN through Zapier. Tell me which 5 creators drove the most revenue, which 5 cost the most but underperformed, and one specific outreach angle I should test with my top creator type next quarter. Then draft personalized outreach to the top 3 creator profiles I should be hunting for next.

For pure creator discovery

There's also a native MCP for Influencers Club in the Claude directory if you want a Claude-native creator search without going through Zapier. Connect the same way as Shopify or Klaviyo: claude.com/connectors, search, click Connect, sign in.

MCP 4 Your Reviews Platform

Loox, Yotpo, Stamped, and Judge.me, the four most common e-commerce review tools, all connect to Claude through Apify's review scraper MCP. One MCP server covers all four. Once it's connected, Claude can read every review you've ever gotten and find genuine patterns. Not "customers love the product" generalities, but real lines like "four reviews this month mentioned the same fit issue with the medium size" or "the customers who left 5 stars and a photo all used the same use case." This is where your next product decision lives.

How to connect it:

  1. Sign up for an Apify account at apify.com (the free tier covers a real amount of review scraping).
  2. Inside Apify, go to Settings > Integrations and copy your personal API token.
  3. In Claude, open Settings > Connectors > Add Custom MCP.
  4. Add Apify's MCP server URL (published in Apify's MCP docs) and paste in your API token when prompted.
  5. Confirm the connection.
  6. Open a new chat, tell Claude your store URL or your reviews page URL, and try the prompt below.

Then try this first prompt

Pull every review from the last 12 months for my store. Group them by sentiment, then group them by topic. Tell me the three product changes I should make based on what customers are actually saying, and the three specific lines I should use in marketing copy because real customers said them in 5-star reviews.
MCP 5 Your Accounting Platform

QuickBooks has a real MCP server in the Claude directory. Once it's connected, Claude can pull your books, find patterns, and answer plain-English questions about your finances ("what did I spend on contractor payments in Q1 vs Q2?", "pull my last 6 months of revenue by product line and tell me which is growing the fastest").

How to connect it:

  1. Open Claude and go to Settings > Connectors (or visit claude.com/connectors).
  2. Search for QuickBooks in the directory and click Connect.
  3. Sign in with your QuickBooks admin account when prompted.
  4. Grant the requested read permissions for your books (transactions, accounts, reports).
  5. Open a new chat and try the prompt below.

Then try this first prompt

Pull my last 6 months of revenue by product line and tell me which line is growing the fastest. Then tell me what I spent on contractor payments in Q1 vs Q2, and flag any spending category that grew more than 30% quarter over quarter.

If you use Xero or FreshBooks

Connect through Zapier's MCP (see MCP 3 above) and you'll get most of the same Claude functionality, just with one extra hop through Zapier's connector layer.

The right order

Set up the basic connectors first. Then add ONE MCP at a time, not all five at once. Use that one for a week before adding the next. You will learn way more about how to actually prompt against your business data, and you won't end up with five half-configured connections.
