15 Books
That Rewired
How I Think

Mindset, building, selling, wealth. The 15 books I recommend constantly, split into the 5 areas that matter most when you're building something. Steal them all for your reading list.

I get asked for book recommendations constantly. So here are the 15 I am consistently recommending, the ones that genuinely changed how I think about money, business, and myself. I split them into the 5 areas that matter most when you are building something, so you can start wherever you need it most.

Read them in order, or jump to the area you need right now. At the very bottom I tell you exactly where to start if you only read one, plus a little bonus: how to turn any of these into a personal AI coach you can actually talk to.

01 Mindset & Belief

Mindset & Belief

Mindset

Carol Dweck

The book that proves your abilities are not fixed, they grow when you treat challenges as training instead of threats. If you ever catch yourself thinking "I'm just not good at this," start here. It rewires that sentence.

Mindset & Belief

Playing Big

Tara Mohr

For the woman who keeps shrinking, over-preparing, and waiting to feel ready. It names the inner critic and the self-doubt out loud, then hands you the tools to stop hiding and take up the space you have earned.

Mindset & Belief

The Mountain Is You

Brianna Wiest

A short, sharp read on self-sabotage, why we get in our own way and how to stop. The whole idea: the thing blocking you is usually you, and that is actually good news, because it means you can move it.

02 Start Your Thing

Start Your Thing

The Lean Startup

Eric Ries

The bible of "stop planning, start testing." It teaches you to build the smallest version of your idea, put it in front of real people, and learn fast instead of spending a year perfecting something nobody wants.

Start Your Thing

The $100 Startup

Chris Guillebeau

Proof you do not need investors or a huge budget to start. Real stories of people who built profitable businesses on almost nothing, plus the simple moves they all had in common. The permission slip a lot of people are waiting for.

Start Your Thing

The Creative Entrepreneur

Carolyn Dailey

For the maker who wants to turn taste and creativity into a real business. Built around how creative founders actually think, so it never asks you to become someone you are not to succeed.

03 Sell & Build An Audience

Sell & Build An Audience

$100M Offers

Alex Hormozi

How to build an offer so good people feel stupid saying no. If your thing is not selling, it is usually the offer, not the audience. This is the book that fixes that, with a clear formula you can use today.

Sell & Build An Audience

Building a StoryBrand

Donald Miller

The reason most marketing falls flat: you made yourself the hero instead of the customer. This gives you a simple framework to make your message clear, so people instantly get what you do and why it matters to them.

Sell & Build An Audience

On Brand

Aliza Licht

How to build a personal brand that actually opens doors. Practical, modern, and written by someone who did it, perfect if you are building an audience and a name at the same time, which most of us are now.

04 Money & Wealth

Money & Wealth

The Psychology of Money

Morgan Housel

Short stories about how people actually behave with money, not spreadsheets. It will change how you think about saving, risk, and "enough" more than any budgeting app ever will. Almost everyone who reads it says the same thing: this one stuck.

Money & Wealth

We Should All Be Millionaires

Rachel Rodgers

A direct, no-apologies push for women to build real wealth, not just manage scarcity. It goes after the small thinking and the guilt around money and replaces it with a bigger, more honest goal.

Money & Wealth

You Are a Badass at Making Money

Jen Sincero

The fun, kick-in-the-pants one. It targets the beliefs about money you did not even know you had, the quiet stuff holding you back, and makes you actually believe more is possible for you. Read it when you need momentum.

05 Habits & Execution

Habits & Execution

Atomic Habits

James Clear

The clearest book ever written on how habits actually form and how to change them. Tiny, almost boring 1% changes that compound into a completely different life. If you struggle to be consistent, this is the manual.

Habits & Execution

The 5 Types of Wealth

Sahil Bloom

A reminder that money is only one kind of wealth. Time, health, relationships, and purpose count too, and chasing only the financial one leaves you broke in the ways that matter most. It helps you design a life that is actually rich.

Habits & Execution

Year of Yes

Shonda Rhimes

One of the most powerful women in television spends a year saying yes to the things that scared her. It is the antidote to overthinking, a real story about how saying yes and showing up changes everything, told by someone who lived it.

Start Here If You Only Read One

If this list feels like a lot and you want one to start tonight, start with this one.

Read This First

The Psychology of Money

Because it is short, it reads like a set of stories instead of a textbook, and it touches every other area on this list. Money sits underneath your business, your goals, and a surprising amount of your stress. Fix how you think about it and everything else gets easier. Almost nobody finishes this one without a different brain than they started with.

Bonus Turn Any Book Into Your AI Coach

Here is something almost nobody does: you do not have to just read these and hope it sticks. You can have Claude (or any AI) coach you using the ideas in any of these books, applied to your actual life. Paste this in, swap in the book and your situation, and you get a coach who pushes you with that book's playbook.

Paste this into Claude or ChatGPT

I want you to coach me using the ideas from this book:

Book: [e.g. "Atomic Habits by James Clear"]

Act as a coach who has fully internalized this book's core ideas and
uses them on me, in my real life, not as a book report.

Here is my situation:
- What I'm trying to do: [your real goal, e.g. "post content 5 days a
  week without burning out"]
- Where I keep getting stuck: [the honest truth, e.g. "I start strong
  then quit by week two"]
- What I've already tried: [e.g. "willpower, a fancy planner"]

Coach me like this:
1. First, reflect back the 3 or 4 ideas from this book that are most
relevant to MY situation, in plain language.
2. Then diagnose what's actually going wrong for me through the lens of
   this book.
3. Give me a specific, doable plan for the next 7 days based on the
book's method. Small enough that I can't fail.
4. Ask me one question at a time to keep me honest and adjust as I go.
5. Be warm but direct. Call me out gently when I'm making excuses the
   book would not let slide.

Start by asking me anything you need to coach me well. Then begin.

What To Do With This

Open Claude or ChatGPT, paste it in, and fill in the book plus your real situation (the honest version, not the polished one). For an ongoing coach, save it as a Project in Claude so it remembers your goals every time you come back. Do this with one book a month and you actually use what you read instead of just highlighting it. That is the whole difference.

The Real Win

A reading list is only worth something if it changes how you act. Read in the order your life needs, start with the one above if you are stuck, and let AI help you actually apply them. That is how 15 books turn into a different year.
